On March 8th, The Spin-Offs helped give the women and girls of Billings, MT quite a treat!
March 8th was the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day and the 101st anniversary of the first female pilot license earned by Raymonde de Laroche of France.
At 5:30pm, an all female ensemble of female air traffic controllers cleared an all-female flight crew to land their UPS Airbus A330 at the international airport in Billings, MT.

Shortly thereafter the dozens of women and girls attending the event were treated to a tour of the aircraft, and a chance to ask the female aviation professionals lots of questions!
Those female aviation professionals were:
- Captain Terri Donner & the female crew of the UPS Airbus A330, and
- Front Line Manager Tammy Kantorowicz & fellow female air traffic controllers.
How were the Spin-Offs involved in this event? We helped recruit the female air traffic controllers who participated!
Special Thanks to:
- Robin Rush, President of Professional Women Controllers, Inc.
- Tammy Kantorowicz, Front Line Manager at Billings Tower, and
- Shane Ketterling, Operatations Manager at Billings Int'l Airport.
